How We Teach Banking Services

Most banking courses overwhelm you with theory. We break things down into clear steps that build on each other naturally.

1

Foundation Concepts

Start with the basics—account types, transaction processes, and how banks actually operate day-to-day. No assumptions about prior knowledge.

2

Real Scenarios

Work through actual banking situations you'll encounter. We use case studies from Australian banks so everything feels relevant and practical.

3

Applied Practice

Put knowledge to work with exercises that mirror real banking tasks. Build confidence through repetition and feedback on your approach.

Understanding Banking Products

Banks offer dozens of products, but most explanations read like legal documents. Our approach focuses on what each product actually does and when it makes sense to use it.

  • Transaction accounts and how they differ from savings products
  • Loan structures and what affects interest rates in practice
  • Investment products and realistic expectations about returns
  • Credit facilities and how approval processes actually work

We cover the regulatory side too—compliance matters, but we explain it in plain language that connects to real banking operations.

Customer Service Skills

Banking knowledge only gets you so far. The difference between adequate and genuinely helpful service comes down to communication and problem-solving.

Our programs spend significant time on:

  • Explaining complex products in ways customers can understand
  • Handling difficult conversations about declined applications
  • Finding solutions when standard procedures don't fit the situation
  • Building trust through consistent follow-through on commitments

These skills take practice. We work through scenarios that push you to think on your feet and develop your own approach.

Program Structure and Timeline

Our main banking services program runs for six months starting July 2026. Here's what that looks like in practice.

1
Weeks 1-8

Banking Fundamentals

Core banking operations, regulatory framework, and product knowledge. Three sessions per week with reading assignments between classes. Expect to spend about 8 hours weekly on this phase.

2
Weeks 9-16

Applied Banking Practice

Case studies, scenario work, and practical exercises. You'll work through customer situations and learn to navigate banking systems. Time commitment increases to about 10 hours weekly.

3
Weeks 17-24

Specialized Topics

Choose focus areas based on your interests—business banking, lending, wealth management, or compliance. Final project work begins during this phase. Plan for 12 hours weekly commitment.

4
Weeks 25-26

Final Assessment

Complete a comprehensive project demonstrating your understanding. Present solutions to realistic banking scenarios and receive detailed feedback on your approach and recommendations.

Who Teaches These Programs

I spent fourteen years working in Australian banks before moving into education. Started as a teller, worked my way through lending and business banking, eventually managing a regional branch.

That experience shapes how I teach—I know which concepts trip people up because I struggled with them myself. And I've seen what actually matters when you're sitting across from a customer trying to solve their problem.
